The City of Denton and the Dallas-Fort Worth area offer many additional transit options. Below, you’ll find information on some of the most commonly used options.
Rideshare companies such as Uber and Lyft that allow you to schedule a ride via an
app on your mobile device can be found in Denton and the surrounding Dallas-Fort Worth
area.

In addition to providing bus service on campus, Denton County Transportation Authority
(DCTA) provides an A-Train rail service that connects to Dallas County rail transit.

Students may use DCTA buses that serve campus and the City of Denton by showing their
UNT student ID. Other transit options, including the A-train, require payment. DCTA
offers a discount program to UNT students, faculty and staff.

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) provides public transportation via buses, rail service, trolleys and more. These services
have connection points to Denton and Fort Worth transit options.
The A-Train from Denton connects to DART’s green line, which then connects to DART’s red line, blue line and orange line (that goes to DFW

Trinity Metro provides public transportation via buses, rail service, vanpools and more. These services
have connection points to Denton and Dallas.
The North Texas Xpress bus route commutes between Fort Worth and Denton.
The Trinity Railway Express is the commuter rail service between Fort Worth and Dallas. This rail service does
not have a direct link to Denton and is accessible only through Tarrant County/Fort
Worth stations and Dallas stations.
The Dallas-Fort Worth area is served by two airports.
DFW International Airport is served by 21 domestic and international airlines.

Dallas Love Field Airport is the only location in the area served by Southwest Airlines. Alaska Airline and Delta Airlines also have flights out of Dallas Love Field.
There are many private shuttle companies that also provide service to DFW International and Dallas Love Field airports. Please be sure to research these companies prior to using them.
