Parking Portal

Daily Permits

Guests may purchase a daily parking permit online through the UNT Transportation Services Parking Portal or in person at the Transportation Services Office located in the Highland Street Garage.

License plate information needs to be accurately input on the parking portal.

Daily permits are valid only in the parking areas listed on the permit

Not valid in visitor or hourly paid lots.

Hourly Parking

Guests may choose hourly parking in the following locations:

Union Circle Garage (3rd floor)

Highland Street Garage 

Many surface lots and garages use Premium Parking for payment:

Pay using the Premium Parking app, QR code, or phone number posted on parking signs.

Payment is required for the entire time your vehicle is parked.

Vehicles parked without valid payment may receive a citation.

Event Parking

Event parking is typically available for campus events, including athletics, meetings, or large exhibitions from event organizers.

Event permits must be clearly visible on the dashboard or rearview mirror.

Parking locations and instructions vary by event.

Event organizers are responsible for sharing parking instructions with attendees. Additional event parking information is available through UNT Transportation Services.

Important Parking Rules to Know

Parking is enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, unless the university is officially closed.

Parking availability is not guaranteed, even with a valid permit or paid session.

All vehicles must park within marked spaces and follow posted signs.

Speed limits on campus:

  • Parking lots: 10 mph
  • Campus streets: 20 mph unless otherwise posted
  • Parking garages: 5 mph
Citations and Enforcement

Parking citations must be paid within 15 days to avoid late fees.

Unpaid citations may be sent to collections.

Certain violations (fire lanes, ADA spaces, no parking zones, and non-payment) are not eligible for appeal.

Vehicles at Risk of Towing or Immobilization

Vehicles may be towed or immobilized if they:

  • Park in a restricted or prohibited area
  • Accumulate multiple unpaid citations
  • Block traffic or pedestrian access
  • Display no license plate or identifying information
  • Or at the discretion of the executive director 
 
Accessible Parking
Guests with a state-issued ADA license plate or placard may use ADA spaces when:
  • displaying valid guest/daily permit and ADA credentials in permit-controlled lots. Parkers with credentials and permits may also park openly in FS, Eagle and Remote lots. 
  • Individuals without a UNT permit may only use hourly spaces and hourly ADA spaces and must pay the posted rate.
  • Vehicles without state-issued ADA credentials may not park in ADA spaces under any circumstances.
Guests with parking fee exemptions (such as DV plates) must still contact Transportation Services to be issued a valid UNT permit.
